Frozen comes to Val d’Europe: “L’Escale Royale: Direction Arendelle” for the 2026 autumn holidays
During the 2026 autumn half-term holidays, the world of Frozen steps out of the Disney parks and into the Val d’Europe shopping centre in Serris. The event is called “L’Escale Royale: Direction Arendelle” and runs from 16 October to 1 November 2026. On the programme: a mini-passport, a journey through the four elements, an augmented-reality ride and a giant crystal inspired by Elsa’s ice palace. Here is everything you need to enjoy it with your children.
A journey to Arendelle, inside a shopping centre
For the occasion, several areas of the centre are transformed into a Nordic setting in the colours of Elsa and Anna’s kingdom. Children set off on a mission through the centre, from place to place, to uncover the secrets of Arendelle.
The idea is simple and clever: a playful trail mixing games, workshops and technology among the shops. Parents can follow the adventure at their own pace and enjoy a coffee break or a little shopping.
Step 1: the mini-passport, Place des Étoiles
It all starts on Place des Étoiles, the centre’s big covered square under its giant chandelier. Children collect their mini-passport, which guides them throughout the trail. At each stage they fill it in, like real travellers on their way to the kingdom.
Step 2: the four elements
As in Frozen 2, the adventure revolves around the four elements: water, earth, air and fire. Each one is a discovery, with games and sensory experiences inspired by the film.
Water
In the film, this is the element of the Nokk, the water horse Elsa tames.
Earth
In the film, these are the huge, powerful earth giants.
Air
In the film, this is Gale, the playful wind that teases Olaf.
Fire
In the film, this is Bruni, the little salamander who bursts into flame.
Step 3: the augmented-reality river ride
The children’s favourite moment: an augmented-reality river ride that makes you feel you are sailing the fjords of Arendelle. Thanks to technology, the scenery comes alive around the children, as if they were sailing to the kingdom.
The trail also offers creative workshops and games along the way to keep little and middle-sized ones busy.
Step 4: the giant crystal, Porte des Terrasses
The finale takes place at Porte des Terrasses, home to a large crystal inspired by Elsa’s ice palace. There you enjoy an immersive experience with a personality test that reveals the element or character most like you.
It is also the perfect backdrop for a souvenir photo before carrying on with your day.

A 100% Arendelle day
The perfect plan for fans: a day at World of Frozen in Disney Adventure World for the boat ride, meeting Anna and Elsa and the show on the bay; then half a day at Val d’Europe to extend the adventure. They are just one RER stop apart. And this year Arendelle also celebrates its very first Christmas: see the Christmas 2026 programme.
After Disney, the adventure carries on at Val d’Europe: a way to make the magic of the autumn holidays last.
Frozen, from Copenhagen to Marne-la-Vallée
The story begins in 1844 with a tale by Hans Christian Andersen, the Danish author of The Little Mermaid. Disney drew very freely on it in 2013 to tell the story of Anna and Elsa, two sisters from the kingdom of Arendelle. The film became one of the biggest hits in animation history, and its 2019 sequel put the spirits of nature at the heart of the adventure: the very four elements you find at Val d’Europe.
Since March 2026 Arendelle has had its permanent kingdom in Marne-la-Vallée, in World of Frozen. L’Escale Royale extends it, outside the parks and with no park ticket needed.

Keeping the magic going after your visit
Back at the apartment, the children often still have Arendelle on their minds. A few simple ideas to make the fun last:
- A movie night with Frozen and its sequel, to meet again the nature spirits seen along the trail.
- A travel journal: stick in the mini-passport, draw your favourite element, tell the story of your day.
- A frosty snack: hot chocolate and snowflake biscuits, to make together in the apartment kitchen.
- The elements game: everyone mimes water, fire, air or earth, the others guess.
Taking great souvenir photos
The giant crystal at Porte des Terrasses is the event’s most photographed setting. For a nice shot, come early in the morning or mid-afternoon, when crowds ease a little. Stand slightly to one side to fit both the children and the crystal in the frame, rather than straight on. And don’t forget the augmented-reality walk: take a screenshot when the spirits appear, the children will love seeing it again.
On rainy days, the Val d’Europe centre is very busy, and so is the Escale Royale. If the weather is good, make the most of it at the parks and keep the Escale for a cloudy morning.
