World of Frozen: the guide to the Frozen kingdom at Disneyland Paris
Children have dreamed of it since the film came out in 2013: the kingdom of Arendelle now really exists, in Marne-la-Vallée. Opened on 29 March 2026 in Disney Adventure World, World of Frozen recreates the village, the castle and the mountain from Frozen, on the shore of a large lake. Ride, royal meeting, show, Nordic food and shops: here is our complete guide to enjoying it without queuing for hours.
A kingdom by the lake
World of Frozen lies at the far end of Adventure Bay, the park’s big central lake. You reach it along the waterside promenade, and the first impact is visual: the 36-metre North Mountain rises above the rooftops, with Elsa’s ice palace sparkling at the summit.
At its foot, the village of Arendelle lines up colourful houses with pointed roofs, cobbled lanes, a harbour and a castle. Everything is designed to make you feel you have stepped into the film, right down to the painted decorations inspired by Norwegian folk art.
World of Frozen is not just an area with one ride: it is a small, complete kingdom with its people, its festival, its food and its shops. Allow at least half a day to see everything, especially with children. To discover the rest of the park, read our complete guide to Disney Adventure World.
Frozen Ever After: the headline ride
The kingdom’s main attraction is Frozen Ever After. You board a boat that glides through the film’s great scenes: Olaf, Kristoff and Sven, the trolls, then Elsa and her great ice powers, to the songs of the film, right up to a joyful finale.
The animated figures are among the most advanced Disney has ever built: expressive faces, fluid movements, snow and ice effects. The ride is gentle and suits the whole family, including the youngest.
Frozen Ever After is the most popular ride at the whole resort in 2026. Go as soon as the park opens or in the last hour before closing. Between 10:00 and 18:00 the wait often exceeds an hour and a half. If your budget allows, this is the ride where paid Disney Premier Access is really worth it.
The royal meeting with Anna and Elsa
The two sisters welcome guests inside the castle in a royal meeting called Royal Encounter. You walk through the castle rooms before being greeted by Anna and Elsa, who take time to chat with each family.
The park’s official photographer is there: photos appear in the app if you have the photo service, but you can also use your own camera. Princess dresses welcome for the children!
As with the ride, the queue for the meeting is shorter in the morning. A tip: ride Frozen Ever After at opening, then go straight on to the meeting before the families who arrive later fill it up.
“A Celebration in Arendelle”: the show on the bay
During the Snowflower Festival, a 15-minute show, “A Celebration in Arendelle”, plays out on the bay with three boats built specially by a French shipyard. Anna, Elsa and Kristoff arrive on the water, accompanied by an astonishingly lifelike robotic Olaf who moves and talks on his own.
The show runs several times a day. The best spots face the bay along the Arendelle promenade: arrive fifteen to twenty minutes early to be in the front row, especially with young children. Times are in the official app.
Eating in Arendelle
Nordic Crowns Tavern is the kingdom’s restaurant, with counter service at lunch and dinner. The dining room echoes the wooden architecture of Scandinavian houses, with painted beams and long tables. On the menu:
- meatballs or their plant-based version, served with mash and cranberry sauce;
- Nordic-style salmon;
- desserts inspired by the film, in the colours of ice and snow.
For a sit-down meal with a view, The Regal View restaurant on the lakeside looks out over the North Mountain. Book several weeks ahead during school holidays.
The kingdom’s shops
Arendelle Boutique
The village’s main shop: dresses, soft toys, accessories, home décor and Frozen souvenirs, some made exclusively for Disneyland Paris.
Fjord View Shop
The shop where you can have make-up and hair done for the festival. It is also home to Rúna, an interactive baby troll who reacts when touched.
A tip: do not shop in the morning. The shops stay open until the park closes, and you will avoid carrying bags all day. There is also a service that delivers your purchases to the park exit.
In the evening, when Elsa’s palace lights up at the top of the mountain, Arendelle becomes one of the most beautiful settings in all of Disneyland Paris.
Arendelle through the seasons
The kingdom changes mood throughout the year. In spring and summer it is the Snowflower Festival, with garlands and musicians. In autumn, the golden evening light shimmers on the bay. And this winter Arendelle celebrates Christmas for the first time, with decorations and a snowy atmosphere: see the programme in our article on Christmas 2026 at Disneyland Paris.
And during the autumn half-term holidays the magic even spills out of the park: the Val d’Europe shopping centre in Serris hosts a free Arendelle-themed trail (read L’Escale Royale: Direction Arendelle).
Our tips for enjoying World of Frozen
- Go as soon as the park opens: Frozen Ever After has its shortest waits first thing in the morning, then late in the evening.
- Follow on with the royal meeting straight after the ride, before the big crowds.
- Have an early lunch at Nordic Crowns Tavern, around 11:30, to get a table without waiting.
- Note the show times in the morning and come back twenty minutes before.
- Return at nightfall: the illuminated village and palace are worth the trip on their own, and Disney Cascade of Lights plays right next door on the lake.
- If your budget allows, paid Disney Premier Access lets you skip the longest queue of the day.
- Dress warmly in winter: the waterside promenade is exposed to the wind, especially in the evening.
The origins of Arendelle
Before it was a film, The Snow Queen was a tale by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, published in 1844. Disney drew very loosely on it for its 2013 film, the story of two sisters, Anna and Elsa, in an imaginary Nordic kingdom. Its success was immediate and worldwide, carried by the song “Let It Go”. A sequel, Frozen 2, followed in 2019, with the discovery of the spirits of nature: water, earth, air and fire.
To imagine Arendelle, Disney’s artists travelled to Norway. The kingdom features brightly coloured wooden houses, fjords, stave churches and the painted floral patterns typical of Norwegian folk art. In Marne-la-Vallée the designers took the detail right up to the roofs, signs and painted doors: take time to look up.
Visiting Arendelle with young children
World of Frozen is one of the best lands on the resort for little ones. The ride is gentle, the scenery enchanting and characters are everywhere. A few tips to make the most of it:
- Come in costume: Elsa and Anna dresses are welcome for children, and the Fjord View Shop offers hair and make-up.
- Locate the toilets and baby care centre as soon as you arrive in the park.
- Plan a break by the lake on the Adventure Way benches between queues.
- Keep the evening show for another day if the children are tired: Arendelle is just as lovely by day.
