Halloween 2026 at Disneyland Paris: programme, the 31 October party and tips

The leaves turn russet, pumpkins take over Main Street and the Disney villains come out of the shadows: from 26 September to 1 November 2026, Disneyland Paris celebrates Halloween. It is one of the resort’s most successful seasons, fun for little ones and mysterious enough for grown-ups. Here is the full programme, the special evening on 31 October and our tips, especially for the French autumn half-term holidays.

Main Street in orange and purple

From the entrance, Disneyland Park changes its face. The Main Street façades are covered in orange and purple garlands, carved pumpkins, scarecrows and autumn foliage. Mickey and friends appear in Halloween costumes and the background music takes on a mischievous tone.

The giant pumpkins and character scarecrows make wonderful backdrops for family photos, especially late in the day when the autumn light turns the façades golden.

Mickey’s Halloween Celebration

The season’s big festive event is Mickey’s Halloween Celebration. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and friends, in seasonal costumes, sweep the audience into a musical celebration full of dancing, good humour and nods to the great classics of the genre. It is the ideal moment for young children to discover Halloween at its most joyful.

Times vary from day to day: check the official app in the morning and arrive a quarter of an hour early for a good spot.

The villains come out

Halloween also means the big return of the Disney villains. During the season you can meet several of them in the parks, for unexpected and often very funny encounters: they stay in character, tease guests and pose for photos with the utmost seriousness. Brave children love it; more sensitive ones may prefer to watch from a distance.

Meeting places and times vary: they are listed in the app under characters.

Frontierland, the haunted quarter

Frontierland is the dark heart of Halloween. The town of Thunder Mesa, at the foot of Phantom Manor, the park’s haunted house, is draped in cobwebs, lanterns and Day of the Dead decorations.

Frontierland’s saloon, the Lucky Nugget, becomes the Unlucky Nugget Saloon for the occasion, with suitably spooky décor. And of course Phantom Manor itself has never been better placed than during this season: it is the family ride to do, with guaranteed shivers but no gore.

In the evening, Frontierland glows with lanterns like a ghost town.

The 31 October evening

On 31 October, Halloween reaches its peak. The park stays open until 23:00, and it is one of the rare days of the year when adults may come in costume. A unique atmosphere: thousands of costumed guests, characters everywhere, illuminated décor and a real party mood.

Costume rules

Costumes must remain family-friendly: no masks covering the whole face for adults, nothing that could look like a weapon, nothing trailing on the ground for safety on rides. Check the detailed rules on the official website before preparing your outfit.

This evening is in high demand: tickets and accommodation around the parks sell out fast. If you want to experience it, book as soon as possible.

On 31 October the evening runs until 23:00 in a real party atmosphere.

What about Disney Adventure World?

The new neighbouring park enjoys the season too. Around the lake, the autumn atmosphere pairs beautifully with the evening show, Disney Cascade of Lights, which starts earlier in autumn as night falls sooner. And the Tower of Terror, with its haunted hotel, is the other perfect ride for a family scare.

Halloween with young children

  • Favour daytime: the decorations are cheerful and colourful, and Mickey’s celebration is designed for them.
  • Prepare them for the villains: explain that they are actors playing a part. It avoids tears.
  • Phantom Manor is fine for children, but the darkness and ghosts can impress under-sixes.
  • Dress them up: children may come in costume throughout the season, not just on 31 October (within the park rules).

The autumn half-term holidays: our tips

The French autumn school holidays, from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 for all zones, fall right in the middle of the season. It is the busiest period of Halloween.

  1. Arrive at opening to do the big rides before the crowds.
  2. Come on weekdays rather than Saturdays and Sundays.
  3. Pack rain gear: autumn in the Paris region is often damp.
  4. Stay until evening: the illuminated decorations are well worth seeing.
  5. Explore the area: during the holidays the Val d’Europe centre runs a free Arendelle-themed trail (read L’Escale Royale: Direction Arendelle).

Halloween at Disneyland Paris strikes the perfect balance: enough thrills to amuse the grown-ups, enough colour to delight the little ones.

And after Halloween?

As soon as the pumpkins are packed away, the Christmas decorations take over: the Christmas season starts on 7 November 2026. Discover the full programme in our article Christmas 2026 at Disneyland Paris.

Rides that give you (a little) shiver

To stay in the mood, here are the rides to enjoy during the season, from the gentlest to the most intense:

Phantom Manor

Frontierland’s haunted house: ghosts, optical illusions and the story of the jilted bride. Guaranteed shivers, no gore.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Skeletons, pirate battles and dark caves in Adventureland, with a little drop.

Big Thunder Mountain

The runaway mine train around a mountain said to be cursed. For older children.

Tower of Terror

In Disney Adventure World, the abandoned hotel and its falling lift. The most intense of all.

Family costume ideas

On 31 October the most inventive families dress up together. A few easy ideas that respect the park rules:

  • The Incredibles: a red T-shirt, a logo and an eye mask.
  • Disney villains: Maleficent, Cruella, Ursula and Captain Hook for the whole clan.
  • Arendelle: Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and an Olaf, to celebrate the new kingdom.
  • Phantom Manor ghosts: a nod that true fans will appreciate.

Think comfort: you will walk all day, and the evening can be chilly.

Lanterns and pumpkins: Halloween is also a festival of light.

Planning your Halloween day

During the Halloween season, the parks are very busy, especially over the French autumn half-term. To enjoy it without rushing, split your day into three parts.

In the morning, head for the big rides at opening, while queues are still short. Around midday, enjoy the decorations, character meetings and entertainment on Main Street and in Frontierland, which are better experienced than queued for. In the late afternoon, take a proper break, back home if you are staying close by: the children rest, put on their make-up calmly and head out again ready for the evening.

Leave room for the unexpected: a child who wants to ride the same attraction three times, a parade you stumble upon. That is often where the best memories are made.

Rides in the morning, decorations in the afternoon, the party at night.

Taking great Halloween photos

  • Main Street at sunset: the pumpkins and orange garlands come alive as the light fades.
  • Frontierland and its haunted scenery: the park’s spookiest atmosphere, perfect for a family photo in costume.
  • The illuminated castle: after dark, purple and orange lighting transforms it completely.
  • Villain meet-and-greets: plan a pose with the children, they love pretending to be scared.

Bring a power bank for your phone: between photos, videos and the official app, the battery drains fast by the end of the day.

Halloween around the parks

The fun does not stop at the gates of Disneyland Paris. Disney Village also puts on its autumn colours, and during the holidays the Val d’Europe centre hosts the Escale Royale around Frozen: all the details in our dedicated article. In Seine-et-Marne, several pick-your-own farms let you choose your pumpkin straight from the field in October: a simple, happy outing with the children before carving it in the evening at the apartment.

Our tip

Buy your pumpkin the day before your park day, carve it as a family in the evening and put it in the window: a little ritual that makes the celebration last and that the children never forget.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 31 October evening cost extra?

Conditions change from year to year: check the official website to see whether the evening is included in your ticket or needs a specific one.

Can adults come in costume every day?

No. Outside the announced special evenings, only children may come in costume. 31 October is the exception, within the park rules.

Is Halloween scary for little ones?

By day, hardly at all: the decorations are cheerful and colourful. The villains and Phantom Manor can be impressive, but simply skip them if your child is sensitive.
