Rainy day near Disneyland: the Sea Life aquarium and Imagi Park at Val d’Europe

Raining in Marne-la-Vallée and your Disneyland Paris day is a washout? Don’t panic. A few minutes from the parks, Val d’Europe can keep the whole family busy and dry: a large aquarium with a tunnel beneath the sharks, and a huge indoor leisure park with karting, bowling, laser tag, trampolines and even a life-size version of Fort Boyard. Here is our complete guide to turning a rainy day into the best memory of your stay.

Sharks, rays, tropical fish: a journey under the sea, out of the rain.

Sea Life Paris Val d’Europe: 25 years under the sea

Inside the Val d’Europe shopping centre since 2001, the Sea Life aquarium celebrates its 25th birthday in 2026. Across about 2,500 m² it has 50 tanks holding some 2 million litres of water, home to around 5,000 animals from 350 species. The visit follows the journey of water, from rivers to the deep ocean, through 8 different zones.

The shark tunnel

The highlight of the visit: a transparent tunnel running beneath the main tank. Sharks and rays glide over your head, inches away. The aquarium is home to 13 species of shark.

Children often stay for ages with their noses pressed to the glass: take your time, the show never stops changing.

Vivid colours and tropical fish: each zone has its own atmosphere.

Other zones not to miss

  • Rivers and lakes: the start of the journey, with freshwater fish.
  • Coral reefs: clownfish, seahorses and brightly coloured tropical fish.
  • The touch pool: under the keepers’ supervision, you can touch some sea creatures such as starfish.
  • Turtles and rays: open tanks to watch them up close.
  • Talks and feeds: several times a day, keepers explain the animals’ lives. Times are posted at the entrance.

Imagi Park: the big indoor leisure park

Right next door, Imagi Park brings together several indoor leisure worlds over more than 13,000 m². It is the perfect place to burn off energy when the weather lets you down, or to give teenagers a change from the Disney parks.

Speed Park

The heart of Imagi Park: indoor karting, 25 bowling lanes, laser tag and arcade games. Karting is open from age 8.

Fort Boyard Aventures

The challenges of the famous French TV show, as a team experience: riddles, physical challenges and cells to complete. From about €25 per adult and €19 per child.

KOJUMP

A trampoline park with high-level courses to jump, climb and let off steam.

Ephemera

A space for experiences and temporary exhibitions, with a programme that changes through the year.

Fort Boyard Aventures: the life-size game

Families who grew up watching the show will love it. In teams, you take on cells inspired by the cult challenges: riddles, skill, courage, speed. You must win keys and clues before time runs out.

It is ideal for families with children aged 8 to 15, or for groups of friends. Book your slot in advance, especially in the holidays and on rainy days.

Fort Boyard Aventures: riddles and team challenges, just like the show.

Prices, hours and minimum ages vary by activity and period. Check each Imagi Park activity’s website before you come and book online to secure your place.

Our rainy-day plan

  1. 10:00: Sea Life opens, beat the crowds.
  2. 11:30: touch pool and a keeper talk.
  3. 12:15: lunch on Place des Étoiles at the Val d’Europe centre.
  4. 14:00: Imagi Park: karting for the older ones, trampolines for the little ones.
  5. 16:00: a family game of bowling, or a team at Fort Boyard Aventures.
  6. 18:00: back to the apartment, or dinner at Disney Village.
And if the rain stops in the evening, the parks’ night-time show awaits.

And there’s more…

Our tip: the “wild card” day

Keep an indoor activity as a wild card in your plans. If rain arrives on your Disney day, simply swap the days. With flexible park tickets, it is even easier. And if you are staying several days, check the forecast each evening to pick the best day for the parks.

Rainy days often make the best memories: a shark overhead in the morning, a kart race in the afternoon.

With a baby or very young children

  • Sea Life is perfectly suited: a flat route, pushchair-friendly, low windows for little ones.
  • Come at opening: fewer people at the tanks and children see better.
  • Plan a break in the shopping centre, where it is easy to eat and change nappies.
  • At Imagi Park, most activities are for older children: check minimum ages before you go.

The Great War Museum

In Meaux, about twenty minutes away: a powerful visit for older children.

The museums of Paris

Louvre, Orsay, Cité des sciences: 40 minutes by RER A. Read our itinerary.

And if the rain persists, Paris and its museums are 40 minutes away.

The residents not to miss

The Sea Life trail takes visitors from Europe’s rivers to tropical reefs. Along the way, children especially look out for:

  • Sharks, gliding overhead in the underwater tunnel: the most impressive moment of the visit.
  • Rays, swimming so gently it looks like they are flying underwater.
  • Jellyfish, almost hypnotic under their coloured lights.
  • Seahorses, tiny and fascinating, to spot among the seaweed.
  • Tropical fish, including clownfish reminiscent of a certain Nemo.

The species on display may change over the years: the aquarium’s website keeps the list up to date.

The underwater tunnel, where sharks swim right over you.

Preparing your visit

  • Book online: tickets bought in advance are often cheaper than at the desk, and you skip the queue.
  • Check feeding and talk times posted at the entrance: the best time to see the animals active.
  • Come at opening on rainy days and during holidays, when everyone has the same idea.
  • Wear comfortable clothes for Imagi Park: children climb, jump and run, so avoid delicate clothing.
  • Combine both on the same day: Sea Life in the morning, lunch at the centre, Imagi Park in the afternoon.

An aquarium in the heart of a shopping centre, one RER stop from Disney: the perfect refuge when the sky clouds over.

It is not compulsory, but booking online often gets a better price and avoids the ticket queue, especially on rainy days and in the holidays.

Is Imagi Park suitable for adults?

Can you do everything in one day?
