Disney Cascade of Lights: all about the night-time lake show at Disney Adventure World

There are now two big evening events at Disneyland Paris. In front of the castle, the projection and fireworks show. And since 2026, on the lake at Disney Adventure World: Disney Cascade of Lights. Hundreds of drones in the sky, more on the water, giant fountains and a score recorded by a full orchestra, all 360 degrees around the audience. Here is how this show works, where to stand and how to fit it into your stay.

A show designed for the new lake

When Disneyland Paris decided to turn the former Walt Disney Studios Park into Disney Adventure World, the central lake of about 3 hectares, Adventure Bay, was designed from the start as a stage. Disney Cascade of Lights was created especially for it: unlike the castle show, which you watch head-on, this one is seen from every side at once. The audience gathers all around the lake and the show unfolds above and on the water for about twenty minutes.

The idea is to tell a story in light, water and music, with great Disney and Pixar songs. The drones draw characters and shapes in the sky while the fountains and water drones come alive on the surface, perfectly in time with the music.

Behind the scenes

What makes the show exceptional is a combination of technologies rarely found in one place:

Around 380 drones

Flown by the French company Dronisos, a world specialist in drone shows. Each one is programmed to the second to form giant pictures in the sky.

Water drones

Small illuminated craft that glide across the lake and draw figures on the water.

Fountains over 18 m

The jets, lit from within, rise higher than a six-storey building and dance to the music.

168-tonne barges

The fountains sit on huge barges in the lake, invisible by day and turned into a stage at nightfall.

The soundtrack was recorded by a 90-piece orchestra. On a lake, sound is a real challenge: speakers are spread all around the shore so everyone hears the same thing wherever they stand.

Where to watch

The show is designed to be seen from everywhere, but not every spot is equal. The drones are visible from far away; the fountains and water drones, however, are best seen from the water’s edge.

Our advice: choose a spot facing the Arendelle mountain, which forms the backdrop to the finest scenes. Avoid places behind trees or lamp posts, and mind the wind: spray from the fountains can soak the front rows.

The drones form glowing pictures above the lake.
SpotHighlightsGood to know
Facing ArendelleThe most complete view, with the North Mountain behind. The most popular: arrive 45 minutes early.
In front of The Regal ViewClose to the water, ideal for the fountains.Spray can reach the front row.
Along Adventure WayEasy to reach, benches nearby.A more distant view of the water effects.
Near the park exitHandy for a quick getaway.Less central, but drones clearly visible.

What time?

Disney Cascade of Lights runs in the evening at nightfall, once or several times depending on the season. In summer it therefore starts late, often after 22:00; in winter much earlier. Exact times are published daily in the official Disneyland Paris app and on the paper programme handed out at the entrance.

The castle show in the neighbouring park usually runs at closing time. On some evenings you can see both: start with Cascade of Lights, then walk to the castle (about ten minutes at a good pace). Always check both times in the app before you set off.

What if the weather is bad?

Drones cannot fly in strong wind or heavy rain. In that case the show may be modified (without drones) or cancelled. The information appears in the app shortly before the scheduled time. Keep a back-up evening if you are staying several days.

On some evenings you can combine the lake at Disney Adventure World with the castle in Disneyland Park.

With children

Every parent’s question: how do you last until the evening show with tired children? Here is what works best:

  1. Plan a real break in the afternoon. If you are staying close by, go back for two hours for a nap, then return for the evening.
  2. Eat early, around 18:30, before settling by the lake.
  3. Bring a warm layer and a blanket: by the water at night it quickly gets chilly, even in summer.
  4. Put the children at the front or on a low wall: standing adults soon block the view.
  5. Know your exit: at the end thousands of people head for the station at once. Waiting ten minutes avoids the crush.

Taking great photos and videos

The drones are very bright, which often fools phones. Lower the exposure manually (tap the screen then slide down), turn off the flash and rest your phone against a railing to avoid blur. For video, shoot short clips rather than all twenty minutes: you will enjoy the show with your own eyes too.

The best moment? When the drones in the sky and those on the water answer each other, and the whole lake seems to light up at once.

Combine it with a day at Disney Adventure World

To enjoy the show without rushing, we recommend a full day at Disney Adventure World: World of Frozen at opening, the Pixar and Marvel rides in the afternoon, then a stroll along Adventure Way late in the day before settling by the lake. During the festive season the show takes on seasonal colours: see the Christmas 2026 programme.

Two night-time shows: which to choose?

Since 2026 Disneyland Paris has two big night-time shows, one in each park. They are very different and complement each other perfectly:

If you are staying two nights or more, see both. If you only have one evening, choose according to the park you spend the day in, or check the app to see whether the times allow you to see both.

French know-how in the spotlight

Disney Cascade of Lights showcases French companies. The drones are flown by Dronisos, a French company that has become one of the world leaders in drone shows. And the Arendelle boats, also seen on the lake by day, were built by a French shipyard.

Behind every performance, dozens of technicians monitor the drones, the weather and audience safety. Every drone is checked before the show, and the flight adapts to conditions in real time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the show included in the ticket?

Yes. It is included in admission to Disney Adventure World, so you need a ticket valid for that park on the day of the show.

Can you see it from outside the park?

The drones fly high enough to be glimpsed from afar, but the full show, with the fountains and music, can only really be enjoyed by the lake.

Is it suitable for young children?

Yes, there are no explosions or loud bangs. The only challenge is the late hour in summer: in winter it starts much earlier.

Do you need to reserve a spot?

No, viewing is free. Reserved areas are sometimes offered with certain dining or evening packages: check the app.
