How to get to Disneyland Paris: train, RER, plane, car, the complete guide
Disneyland Paris is in Marne-la-Vallée, about 30 kilometres east of Paris. Good news: it is one of the best-connected destinations in France, with a TGV and RER station right outside the park gates, two major airports under an hour away and a direct motorway. Here is our complete guide, mode by mode, with journey times and pitfalls to avoid.
By train: Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy station
Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy station is right outside the park entrance, two minutes’ walk from Disney Village. It serves both high-speed trains and the RER.
TGV from all over France
Direct TGVs link Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy with many French cities without going through Paris: Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes, Strasbourg and more depending on the day. It is often the fastest and most restful option, especially with children: step off the train and you have arrived.
From the UK and Belgium
The direct Eurostar between London and Disneyland Paris was discontinued in 2023. You now take the Eurostar to Lille or Paris, then a TGV or the RER A. From Brussels, high-speed trains also reach Marne-la-Vallée, with or without a change depending on the timetable.
RER A from Paris
Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy is the terminus of the eastern branch of RER A. Direct trains leave central Paris from Châtelet – Les Halles, Gare de Lyon, Nation, Auber and Charles de Gaulle – Étoile. Allow about 40 minutes from Châtelet. Careful: not every train goes to Marne-la-Vallée, so check the destination on the platform display.
Tickets: what you need to know
Since the 2025 fare reform in the Paris region, a single metro-train-RER ticket covers the whole journey between Paris and Marne-la-Vallée, at the same price as a trip within Paris. Buy it at the station, on a rechargeable Navigo Easy card or directly on your phone with the official Paris-region transport app. If you are staying a week and making several return trips, the Navigo weekly pass, valid across the region, is often better value.
Journeys to or from Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports have a specific, higher fare than the standard ticket. Buy the right ticket to avoid a fine at inspection.
By plane
Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport
The most convenient. Direct TGVs link the airport station (Terminal 2) with Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy in about ten minutes. Book your train ticket in advance, especially in the holidays.
Paris-Orly airport
No direct train. The simplest option: metro line 14, which now links the airport with central Paris, to Gare de Lyon, then RER A to Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy. Allow about 1 hour 15.
Magical Shuttle coach
A direct coach from both airports to the Disney hotels, in about an hour. Around €24 per adult and €11 per child. Handy with big luggage.
Taxi and private driver
The most comfortable option for a large family, but the most expensive. Book ahead and agree the fare before you set off.
By car
Take the A4 motorway towards Metz and Nancy, then follow the Parcs Disney exit. From the Paris ring road, allow 35 to 45 minutes outside rush hour. On weekdays avoid leaving Paris between 7:30 and 9:30: the A4 is one of the most congested roads in the region.
The parks have a large paid car park. If you stay in an apartment with a parking space, you can reach the parks by local bus or on foot and avoid that fee every day.
Getting around Marne-la-Vallée
Chessy, Serris, Montévrain and Val d’Europe are linked by a local bus network serving Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy and Val d’Europe stations. Handy for reaching the parks without a car. Just before the terminus, RER A also stops at Val d’Europe (for the shopping centre and La Vallée Village) and Bussy-Saint-Georges.

Our tips for a stress-free arrival
- Book TGVs early: prices rise as the holidays approach.
- Download the Paris-region transport app to buy tickets and follow live traffic.
- Check for engineering work: RER A sometimes closes on certain weekends or summer evenings, with replacement buses.
- Travel light: stairs and rush-hour crowds on the RER are hard with big suitcases.
- Arrive the day before your first park day: you will be fresh and at the gates for opening.
The best journey to Disneyland Paris is the one you make only once: arrive the day before, drop the bags, and the next morning the parks are minutes away.
Travelling with a pushchair and suitcases
Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy station is fully accessible: lifts between the platforms and the concourse, ramps and wide gates. With a pushchair, use the wide gate, usually marked with a pictogram, rather than the standard turnstiles.
On the RER A, board the first or last carriages if you can, as they are often less crowded, and fold the pushchair at peak times. For luggage, one simple rule: one wheeled suitcase per adult and a backpack for each child old enough to carry one. You keep your hands free to hold the little ones on the platforms.
On TGV trains, large suitcases go at the end of the carriage and bags above the seats. Label them with your name: it is actually compulsory on high-speed lines.
Arriving late at night
Your train arrives at 10 pm, your flight lands at midnight? No need to panic, but plan ahead a little:
- The RER A runs late into the evening, but frequency drops sharply after 10 pm. Check the time of the last train to Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy on the day using the RATP or Île-de-France Mobilités app, as night works can change the service.
- Airport shuttles have their own timetables, which do not cover the whole night. If you land after the last departure, a taxi or ride-hailing car is the simplest option.
- Taxis wait outside Chessy station and the airport terminals. From Roissy, allow about 45 minutes at night, when the roads are clear.
- Dinner: pack a snack. Once you arrive, Disney Village restaurants stay open late, and the Val d’Europe centre has plenty of places open into the evening.
Thanks to self check-in, you can enter the apartment from 4 pm, whether you arrive at 5 pm or 11 pm. No appointment to keep, no frantic call to reception if your train is late: your codes are waiting for you.
Coming by bike or on foot
Marne-la-Vallée is a new town, designed with many cycle paths and footpaths. Between Serris, Chessy and Val d’Europe, many journeys are easy on foot in 15 to 25 minutes. Some park regulars even cycle in and lock their bike near the entrance: a lovely, quiet way to start the day before the crowds.
In the evening, after the show, walking back is part of the experience too: the children replay the day while the parents enjoy the fresh air.
